Two Weeks And Counting!
Where I chat about the release, the release event, show cover mocks, and deliver more free comics
Oh Amazon, you know me so well.
May 2nd is fast approaching. A little over two weeks until the release of ThunderBoom. A little less than two weeks until TCAF and its debut there. I should be nervous. But I’m not. I’m way too busy to be nervous, I guess.
I’m excited actually. My first show in Toronto since before the pandemic. My first TCAF in a bunch of years. Seeing friends and fans I haven’t seen in a long while. Finally getting this book out into the world for all to read. Yeah, excited. Not nervous. Just don’t think of the media interviews. Or any reviews that come in. Focus. Yeah, that’s all.
I’ll have a new banner to show off at the show. Promotional freebies like a ThunderBoom bookmark and postcard. My books too, of course. I’ll have my own small table on the third floor - table 301. But I’ll also be doing a signing at the Kids Can Press booth on the first floor, table 132, on the Sunday at noon. Right after a panel at 11am I’m part of about the collaborative process of making comics. Dynamic Duos, it’s called! Come see me…and Claudia Davila (at the panel and signing)! Come pick up the book! Or you can always order it here. If Amazon doesn’t send you an email like they did to me.
And if you missed my video posting of the book’s arrival to my home on my social media, here it is again:

More Dominion Jack Covers
I showed you the Dominion Jack cover to Exciting Comics #36 last newsletter. Here’s some other covers. One is a parody cover you’ll never see in print, but wouldn’t this team-up be so cool if it actually happened? Art is by Steven Legge. The other images are cover roughs or mock ups for Exciting Comics #40 by Hugh Rookwood. Guess which one we went with?
We went with this one. Although cover mock #7 came a close second. You’ll see it when it’s done.
Boo Bear & Flo: The Dust-Shaped World - Pages 22-23-24
As usual, we end with some free comics, continuing the story of Boo Bear & Flo. More adventures in dustiness, by me and Agnes Garbowska.
That’s it for another newsletter. Next time, along with more previews and free comics, I should have more info about upcoming events post TCAF around the new book and any new shows I’ve booked. It’s going to be a busy month. Wish me luck!
