Thunder and Lightning in May…
Where I talk about the busy month of May, my appearances in June and July, and sharing the ThunderBoom love. Plus, not forgotten, the return of Boo Bear & Flo!
Wow, it’s been a whirlwind month! It’s been amazing seeing ThunderBoom land with so many positive and energetic responses online and in person from fans, family and friends. I know it can’t possibly last…but keep it coming! :) And beyond the social media promotions this past month, I do plan on more appearances and events to promote the book beyond the TCAF debut.
It started on May 28th with an online video panel hosted by NYC shop Books of Wonder on Great Graphic Novels For Middle Grades. I was interviewed along with several other authors and gave a reading from the book. You can see the video reading and interview here.
Now, I hope this and other events being planned help give the book visibility. I don’t expect a best-seller, to be honest I don’t even know what constitutes a “best-seller”, but I was curious those first couple of weeks to see how the book was doing on Amazon, for example. Here are a couple of “moments in time” that I grabbed during the initial week or two of release…
It was like watching stocks, I tell ya!!! :) Yeah, it was fun to see the book ahead of other more famous books, at least for a little while.
It was also fun and heart-warming to receive feedback about the book. This one in particular was quite moving for me…
So, starting next weekend, I have a slew of appearances and events coming. On June 18th, I’ll be back at Place D’Orleans for their one day mini-con in a mall, the Orleans Comic Book & Novelty Show.
After that, you can find me in a few other spots around town and even in Toronto…
June 24th - Indigo Barrhaven
July 5th - Coles Carlingwood
July 8th - Comic Book Shoppe 1 (Nepean, Bleeker Mall)
July 16th - Little Island Comics (Toronto) - with Claudia Davila
I’ll flag these on Substack Notes, Chat, and my socials as they get closer. I have a few others still being planned for later in July through to September and I’ll keep you posted as those details are finalized.
Oh, and I’ll be at Ottawa Comic Con in September as well!
And look at some of the promotional swag I’ll have at the bigger events and shows: ThunderBoom bookmarks and postcards, Dominion Jack postcards (and even a Who’s Who style sheet!), and a Markosia Asteroid Adrift postcard!
