Sun, Friends and Comic Con...
As summer flies by, so do outdoor activities and encountering friends; meanwhile, back to school and Comic Con approaches...
It’s already a full week into August and that means summer is in full swing. Or if you talk to my Mom, summer is basically over. Which is isn’t! We don’t want to rush that, do we?
I certainly don’t. Holidays I’ve taken have been relaxing and fun, filled with pickleball and friend outings, a nice respite to all the craziness the day job brings as well as a break from working on my next comic project. I continue to sort out ideas and spots for pitches to see where my next project will lead me to, while working on short story translations for colleague and fellow writer, Marcello Bondi. Always something to do, that’s for sure.
Someplace to be next month will be Ottawa Comic Con, as I will be attending that show at the EY Centre from September 5th to 7th. Hope to see you there. First and only show this year so please do come out to see me!
Someone who’s done a few more shows than me this year is pal, cartoonist Scott Chantler. He’s currently on the road promoting his latest books from both First Second (the Squire and Knight series) and PaperCutz (re-release of Three Thieves). He’s heading east, to Quebec City and the east coast but he did make a stop here in Ottawa, giving us a chance to catch up.
And catch up we did with good eats and drink! Details around his tour can be found here.
That’s it for this time around. Until next time…
