New Year, New Possibilities...
Where I chat about 2022, 2023 appearances, new releases, more previews and free comics.
Happy New Year! After 548 scripted pages, 2022 has come to a close as we look forward to 2023. My 2022 workload was a full slate…as my “Brady Bunch” image can attest to…
…and 2023 plans to be no different! With the release of ThunderBoom in May, Dominion Jack returning to print that same month in Exciting Comics from Antarctic Press, and the Markosia releases of Asteroid Adrift and the colour editions of Growing Up Enchanted, 2023 will be busy, release-wise. And those are just the ones I know of! There are others with no set release date that may sneak into this year as well, so stay tuned.
Appearance-wise, I plan to do many more shows and events this year, primarily to promote ThunderBoom. I will be at TCAF in April, where the book will debut and I’m super-excited about that, as that Toronto show is one of my favourites that I attend. Others are still in the planning stages so more will come when I have confirmation of those events. But mark down TCAF (April 28th-30th) to start!
Out This Month!
Last newsletter, I mentioned the release of two new books - Samurai 2.0 and Writer’s Block - from Antarctic Press and Markosia, respectively. Some copies of both books did arrive right before Xmas, so here’s a couple of festive pics to commemorate their arrivals in my home. In addition, Horror Comics #18 (also from Antarctic Press) is out this week in comic shops, so if you’re a horror fan, check that out. All three of these books are Marcello Bondi written books I edited and/or did translation edits for.
Pre-order or Spread the word about ThunderBoom!
Now, back to books I’m writing. As you know, ThunderBoom is coming out in May from Kids Can Press and is available to pre-order. If you can pre-order, great - much appreciated. If you can’t, that’s fine too. But if you want to help support the launch, I would love if the links could be shared with everyone on your socials or through email or connection of choice, when you have a chance. Every little bit helps! Here are some pre-order links with more details about this middle grade adventure by me and Claudia Davila from Kids Can Press: Amazon, Indigo, Barnes & Noble and Book Shop.
Also, I posted the details on my main website as well, so you can direct them there or the pre-order links above.
Who’s Your Muse?
Dominic Bercier has been working away on the second half of pencils for Muse’s Motel. He also did some drawings of the characters that may be used as covers or gallery pieces and I wanted to share. They’re looking great!
Boo Bear & Flo: The Dust-Shaped World - Pages 16-17-18
Ending the newsletter once again with free comics fun from me and Agnes Garbowska…as Flo faces dust bunnies galore!
That’s it for another newsletter! Until next time!
